Located 1.5 kms north of Tenterfield Post Office on the New England Highway and with only a 3.5 hours drive south from Brisbane, why not come down and stay the night? This will enable you to have an easier drive to Sydney or if travelling further south possibly arriving a day earlier.

  • Sir Henry Parks gave his maiden Federation speech in Tenterfield which led to the town being known as "The Birthplace of Our Nation".
  • Captain Thunderbolt (alias Fred Ward) plied his trade as a bushranger in the area.
  • Major J F Thomas who defended Harry "the Breaker" Morant was resident here.
  • Banjo Patterson was married in a Tenterfield church and Peter Allen, the entertainer was born here, grandson of the Tenterfield Saddler, the main character in his beautiful song.
